Dear team Mickey Mouse Club, While I do believe that it is true that seeds will germinate at a low pH level, I believe that they will germinate better and less seeds will fail to germinate if they are at a more neutral pH. This seemed like a very well thought out experiment. Good job! |

Thanks and Best Wishes Thank you for sharing your plant research with us. Exploring and examining how the natural world works is what we love about being scientists. We were happy to share that experience with you. All best wishes in your future endeavors. Perhaps we’ll see you in the community of plant researchers again one day. --Claire Hemingway and the entire PlantingScience crew. |

The different treatments we were using were water, vinegar, and liquid starch. Actually, water was the liquid that had a pH of 6. We used both higher and lower because vinegar had a pH of 4 whereas starch had a pH of 9. |

Fast germination at ph 6 Hello Team: You noticed a germination at pH 6. What about water? Did you try a ph lower than 6? a ph higher than 6? Thank you |

Seed germination under different pH Hello Team: You have a good project. I read your protocle and it is good. It is good that you have a control: you are using water to germinate your seed. You will be using tehn different pH. What are the different treatments you will be using? That is what pH are you using? Thank you |

Do you suppose that dropping the 2-3 cm. of liquid on the seeds each day is too much? |

Mr. Bill Dahl
Welcome! Welcome to PlantingScience and the community of science researchers. I have the pleasure of introducing you to your scientist mentor, Dr. Fatimata Pale. She will be working with you over the next few weeks. We are all looking forward to following your research and learning a bit more explanation about your project. Can you tell us how you are setting up your research (experimental design) and what conditions you will use, what type of seeds and how you’ll define the seed germinations success growth rate. Have fun as you track the changes to your seeds and collect the data you’ll use to verify or disprove your prediction. All the best with your project! - Bill |
